Church History
Crossroad Christian Church was founded by Pastor Tony Polzella and his family back in July 2015. Services were originally held at their home in Port Jefferson Station. After two and half months, the church moved to the Meadow Club catering hall in Port Jefferson Station.
In July 2018, the Meadow Club was partially damaged due to a fire, and the church has been temporarily relocated to its weekly meeting location at the Curry Club in East Setauket.
In-person services resumed at the Meadow Club in February 2021.
On April 18, 2021, Crossroad Christian Church held its first service in their own dedicated space at 623 Bicycle Path in Port Jefferson Station.
Mission Statement
EDUCATING people in the truths of the Bible and STIMULATING them to live out those truths while LEADING others to Christ.
Our Beliefs
I. God The Father
We believe, love, and worship the one and only unchanging, sovereign, and loving God. He is the Creator and Ruler of all things in Heaven and Earth. God is manifest in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
II. Jesus Christ (Son)
Jesus Christ, our Lord, is God in the flesh. He is the Son of God that was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He is fully God, fully man, and sinless. He died on the cross in our place for our sins. He was buried, resurrected from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father. He is our Advocate and will return to judge the living and the dead.
III. The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He exalts Christ and convicts us of our sin and need for Jesus Christ. He fully lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He comforts, teaches, and empowers us to live in righteousness. He equips every believer with spiritual gifts for service in the Body of Christ.
IV. Bible
The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. It reveals God and His will to man. The Bible is the sole authority for Christian living.
V. Man
Man is made in the image of God. He was created to worship God, to glorify Him, and to have dominion over the Earth. Sin separates man from God, and man is eternally doomed unless he receives salvation through Jesus Christ.
VI. Salvation
Since all persons are separated from God by sin and are in need of forgiveness, God offers the free gift of salvation. Each person must individually accept this gift, repent of sin, and place their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
VII. Water Baptism
Following Christ’s example, baptism by immersion symbolizes death and resurrection to new life through Christ. It serves as a testimony of faith after accepting Christ as personal Lord and Savior.
VIII. The Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper (or communion) is an act of obedience and a testimony of faith. It symbolically memorializes the death of Jesus Christ. Self-examination and confession of sins should precede participation in the Lord’s Supper.
IX. Family
The family, composed of persons related by blood, marriage, or adoption, is ordained by God as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is a lifetime covenant commitment of one man and one woman reflecting the union of Christ and His Church. Children, from the moment of conception, are to be valued as a gift of life from God Almighty. Parents are to love, teach, discipline, and model Biblical truth before their children; children are to honor and obey their parents.
