New Testament Accuracy
In my last article, I started to explore some reasons for accepting the validity of the Old Testament. We briefly discussed the historical, archeological, and prophetic evidence, and saw a solid basis for accepting them as fact. Today, I want to move to the New Testament to examine some of the credentials for its acceptance. It is the New Testament, after all, that contains the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. As Christians, we base our eternity upon those teachings. It is, therefore, essential that we are convinced that the accounts we read today are factual and accurate to what [...]
Why Are You A Christian?
I often hear the question, “So, why are you a Christian, anyway?” I can honestly say that one reason is that I am truly confident that what the New Testament teaches is accurate, reliable, and true. The scriptures are the primary way in which God communicates with mankind. Historically, there have always been opponents to belief in the scriptures, but that opposition has increased exponentially in recent decades. We often coddle, baby, and watch out that we don’t offend those around us who, in reality, desperately need to hear the truth from us. I am in no way belittling the need for fellowship, [...]
So That the World Might Believe—A Call For Christian Unity
There’s an old adage that says, “There’s strength in numbers.” There are many times we don’t realize the tremendous magnitude of power in doing things together. But eventually, we all experience a revelation moment when we realize that we could accomplish a whole lot more if only we had a little help. This brings us to the topic of Christian unity. Jesus wants the Church to be one Church – His Church, His Bride. Yet, division, lack of support, and infighting prevail in many Christian circles today. Such actions between the brethren are a slap in the face of Christ [...]
